Most take you to a 5* hotel for lunch then you go to the Egyptian Museum where you have got 21/2 to be guided round you don't even get to see half of it because there is so much so they tend to take you round all the important bits and leave you free to wander for a bit. They will sell you tickets to see a mummy room in the museum it cost about £12cyp but again it is worth it just to say that you have seen something that is ancient and with real teeth and hair. Most will then take you to a papyrus shop for a short demo and the chance to buy pictures i have brought quite a few of these because i think that they are great especially some of the modern ones that they are doing now. You then get to cruise down that nile and have some dinner while watching the entertainment at all cost i advise you to stay clear of egyptian wine and beer because it is vile. This was such a fantastic day and it was well worth the morney spent and i know loads of people that have come to cyprus to do this trip and have really enjoyed themselves and said that they had a great day. hi, yes they do trips to egypt and israel from cyprus ,but i would give them 0 out of 10.they are,nt cheap ,and you are herderd from 1 place to another.you are only allowed 10 to 15 minutes at places of interest, but you are allowed 3 hours in there chosen shop on return journey to the boat. for example we went to the wailing wall allowed to stand away from the wall for about 10 minutes, kept in a close huddle then hurried along to the bus station where the coach had parked up this big hill. an elderly french woman in the group could not manage the situation, it was that fast. i would suggest your money is better spent on having a good time,in the place you are stying at in cyprus, apparently it is easier to go into north cyprus now that would be far more pleasant enjoy what you do

yes they can do daytrips, my daughter went and had a great time. See whats on offer when you get there, they will sell you a cheaper day trip when you can shop around.

My parents went to Cyprus...thought it was crap so booked the 3 day Egypt thing...they loved it !!! Cheap as chips too it was. Hope this helps

hi!! i took a trip from cyprus to egypt in october 2005 and is well worth it!! i went with my parents and my brother and we all loved it!!!



whatever you do, dont book it before you go because it will be double the price of what it is if you book it when your there. you can book it in small travel agents which are jst about everywhere.



the trip:



day 1: we were staying in protaras and caught the bus to limassol port. from there, we got on the boat. we sailed to egypt over night.



day2: early morning unfortunately!! we got off the boat at Port Said at about 7 and got in a convoy of several buses with armed guards (very cool i must say!) which took us to cairo. First stop was the pyramids and the sphynx which were amazing!! then we went to the Cairo museum and looked around. you have to go in the mummy room it is awesome! from there we went to a bazaar in which they show you how papyrus is made and try to flog it to you. i bought a fez outside on a stall just for fun. then we got back on the bus and went back to Port Said.



Wherever you go, you will have to be wary because there are lots of people begging for money and it can be quite intimidating. you'll see what i mean when you get there!!



day 3: arrive in cyprus after sailing back over night. arrive at about lunch time or late morning.
